I cannot believe it is that time of year again!! For us, we school year round and our school year 2010/2011 is coming to an END!! The beginning of June marks a new year for us!! I can hardly believe it! And, I have to say, this past year has been one of our BEST years yet!! We just really got in a groove, even after a few months of trying to figure out adding in a 3rd student. We had lots of successes and you will notice that the things we loved most about last year will be continuing into the next year!! I am so thankful for the wonderful school year we have just completed!!
Our biggest successes and joys from this past year were Teaching Textbooks for math, science & spanish with 2 other families, getting a “groove” with 3 students, lots of memory work and making some good headway in language arts!!
For the coming year, you will see the biggest change is that we will not be doing unit studies as our “main thing.” GASP! Our school year will revolve around our history program, we will be trying this out and hopefully it will go well! I will say that I am planning to ADD IN unit studies (and Five in a Row titles) wherever they fit with our history program! We will also be reading books from the Beautiful Feet book list for American History along with our main text.
As we start our year, for the summer we will be doing a USA Geography course!! Here are the resources and plans for our summer fun!
