I was blessed to volunteer when the Compassion Mobile Experience came to Knoxville this past weekend. I just love Compassion. Really. Every experience I've ever had with them (through volunteering) and every letter or informational thing we've gotten about our sponsored child, every link and site and speaker and blogger has inspired me in some way. I just love what they stand for and what they accomplish for SO many children around the world!

If you go on a mobile experience tour, you will be able to walk through - and touch! - a very close replica of a real sponsored child's home in their country. The same size, the same things on the walls, the same noises. You will walk through their workplaces - maybe a market, maybe a sewing room. You will then see how compassion TRULY transforms a child's life.

I am not saying this to be dramatic. If you sponsor a child and have read anything online about Compassion, you probably know I'm not exaggerating. :) But, the lives of children are transformed when a sponsor chooses them. Each child goes from complete poverty to having a full tummy, medical assistance, help for their family, help with school...and best of all, an introduction to AND ongoing teachings about Jesus Christ. You can see part of this transformation as you walk through the mobile experience.

I encourage you to check out the locations for the Compassion Mobile Experience. For those of you who don't think visiting a third world country might happen in your near future, it is especially eye opening. If you haven't seen how these children live, it's a mind boggling thing. In America, it's hard for us to even fathom the life of poverty that so many children around the world live in. But, with this tour, you can see, listen, touch the lives of actual children who have been through the Compassion program.
